This Canada Day, enjoy everything Ottawa has to offer. From downtown Ottawa to Orleans, Barrhaven, and Kanata, there are exciting Canada Day activities all across the city.
Starting at 9am on July 1, join a sea of people celebrating Canada in the heart of Ottawa!
For many Ottawa residents, as well as visitors from across the country and abroad, Canada Day is defined by the epic celebrations in the center of the city.
Lebreton Flats, Confederation Park, and Parliament Hill, among other locations in the downtown area, will feature an exciting lineup of events all day long. From all-day live concerts by Canadian artists to buskers, children’s activities, and the best food trucks, enjoy a high-energy day of celebrations!
And don’t forget to keep your eyes to the sky with the Royal Canadian Air Force flyover and the iconic fireworks scheduled for the end of the day. Fingers crossed for good weather!
Just a short walk or bus ride across the river, you’ll find a variety of exciting activities as well as live music and excellent food.
Head across Alexandria Bridge to Jacques-Cartier Park, or explore the vibrant pedestrian streets in downtown Hull, just off Portage Bridge. You’ll also find an unmatched view of the Ottawa river and Parliament buildings from either of these bridges!
If you’re looking to experience Ottawa’s Canada Day, but are not keen on crowds, you don’t have to stay in the downtown core. The neighbourhoods surrounding Ottawa’s center, such as the Glebe, Westboro Village, Sandy Hill, and Vanier, will have plenty going on as well!
In Westboro, take in the boutique-lined Richmond Rd as you sip a coffee at a European-stye sidewalk cafe. Look for street parties, live music, market festivals and special promotions from local businesses in this charming and pedestrian-friendly area.
A short walk towards the river, you’ll find yourself on Westboro Beach, which will feature fireworks and activities throughout the day. Check out the fully redeveloped zero-carbon pavilion on the beach and enjoy the sunset at this unique location.
Running South from downtown along Bank Street, the Glebe is a historic neighbourhood full of life and activity. A place that is full of live music venues and bustling patio restaurants, the Glebe reaches a fever pitch on Canada Day and you can be sure of a fantastic night out.
If you’re a fan of football, start your Canada Day celebrations early at TD Place, where the Ottawa Redblacks will host the Toronto Argonauts on Sunday, June 29th.
You can also celebrate Canada Day at Walter Baker Park in Kanata. They will have a midway, a marketplace, and a family fun zone with fireworks starting after dark.

If you’re looking for something a bit more athletic, you could also join Otto’s Ottawa Canada Day Road Races. Sign up for a 10K, 5K, 1K or even a 100m Tot Trot and celebrate Canada’s birthday with a run. All races start at Earl of March Secondary School in Kanata.
The Barrhaven celebration at Clarke Fields offers a full day of activities perfect for families, kids, and anyone who wants to stay close to home.
The day kicks off with a Seniors and Family Breakfast from 9 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by hours of entertainment. Robertson Amusements will be running a full midway from 11 AM to 11 PM, and the Kids Zone Activity Area is open from 11 AM to 4 PM with games, crafts, and kid-friendly fun.
Food vendors will be on-site from 11 AM to 10 PM, serving a variety of snacks and meals throughout the day. There will also be live music and market vendors to explore as you enjoy the festive atmosphere.
The evening ends with a fireworks display, making it a full day of fun without ever leaving the neighbourhood.

Celebrate Canada Day by the water at Petrie Island in Orléans! From 11 AM to 4 PM, the North Beach will be full of family fun with a Kids Zone, bouncy castles, and the always-popular firehose challenge with local firefighters.
Spend the afternoon soaking up the sun and enjoying beachside activities, then stick around for a stunning sunset and a fireworks show at 10 PM on the East Beach.
It’s a perfect way to celebrate Canada Day outdoors with family, fun, and fireworks.

Canada Day celebrations are set to light up Stittsville once again this summer, with the Stittsville Village Association hosting an evening of community fun on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. The event will take place from 6 PM to 10 PM on the shared grounds of Sacred Heart High School and the CARDELREC Recreation Complex.
This year’s celebration promises something for everyone. Attendees can look forward to free family-friendly entertainment, including face painting, aerial acrobatics, and interactive activities. Local businesses and community organizations will also be on hand to showcase their offerings and connect with residents.
Food trucks will be serving up tasty eats throughout the evening, and the festivities will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display at 9:45 PM.

Riverside South’s biggest event of the year is back! On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, Claudette Cain Park will be packed with family fun from 10 AM to 2 PM and fireworks from 8 PM to 10 PM.
The daytime celebration features inflatables, a mini train ride, rock climbing, laser tag, mini golf, human foosball, a dunk tank, and shows by Little Ray’s Reptiles and Junkyard Symphony. There’s also a toddler zone, face painting, balloon clowns, a live DJ, and more!
Food trucks and a cash-only canteen will be on site. Fun Passes for unlimited activities are $16 in advance or $18 at the event (cash only). Kids under 3 and non-riders are free.
In the evening, enjoy live music at 8 PM followed by fireworks at dusk (approx. 10 PM). Snacks, drinks, and glow gear will be available (cash only). Walking or parking nearby is recommended, as on-site parking is limited.

Car-free transportation all day long
Leave your car at home on Canada Day as most of downtown will be pedestrian only.
Remember that all OCTranspo buses and trains are free on Canada Day, getting you around to all of the day’s activities - and back!
Or, take out your bikes and roller skates - Ottawa-Gatineau boasts more than 100 km of dedicated cycling paths that will bring you to all of the Canada Day hot spots, plus all of the most Instagram-worthy views of parks and the Ottawa river.
